I turned 20 the other week. It wasn’t that long ago, but my days are all confused. I didn’t do much as I had an exam and everyone else did too, but I spent the day lying in the sun and doing nothing and then after my exam I went back to Adam’s and had a really nice night chilling with some friends. It was weird because I’m not use to having no plan for my birthday and I had no idea what Adam was planning but it was really nice in the end. And I had the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers delivered to my door. <3 <3 <3 <3

I got given a new camera for my birthday from my parents, it’s just a little digital one for carting around easy like, but I’m still getting used to it. The photos are always almost a bit too crisp and clear and bright!

Apparently my cousin looks like RJ Berger… I can kinda see it.

Anyway, my 17th birthday I went to see the Naked and Famous with my friends. I managed to get my friend Wonwezar to wear her weave mega huge. It looked amazing. She reminded me of Macy Gray. My cousin Felix came too, he’s pretty much my brother.
After the show we went to Burger King and tried to all drink out of the same cup… It ended badly.

A note to all planners. If you ever plan to have a child, keep in mind what time of year they will be born. NOONE WANTS TO HAVE THEIR BIRTHDAY RUINED BY A LAME ASS EXAM.

If any of you have been following me for a while you’ll know how much my birthday means to me. I usually do a massive birthday countdown and make a big thing out of it. But this year I have an exam from 5:45 til 8pm on my actual birthday and the Saturday following an exam from 2 - 4 pm. I’m quite upset about it. So long champagne breakfast.

Some birthday presents:

  • Harajuku Lovers Music Eau de Toilette from Mudford and Hans.
  • Ferrero Rocher from Jack.
  • A KW skull necklace from Ivana.
  • KW Critters bracelet from my parents.
  • Two Riedel Crystal Champagne flutes from Amelia/ an amazing champagne breakfast.
  • A gold overnight bag from my aunt and uncle.
  • Cropped loose t shirt from my great grandmother.

I was on msn to Gareth, Ivana, Amelia and Matthew Waymouth.

At midnight my phone exploded, both Ivana and Waymouth rang and Gareth was the first person to wish me happy birthday for the second year in a row.

Then the next day I went to school and everyone knew it was my birthday. We had a shared lunch and Ivana gave me a Russia cake decorated by her brother, because in Soviet Russia Cake Eat You!

I went home at lunchtime to avoid prizegiving, and then after school Ivana, Amelia, Anya and Gareth came over. We drank flirtini’s and ate dinner with my parents.

Then Gareth dropped Anya, Amelia and I in town.

In town we met a group of Irishmen in Danny Doolan’s and they bought me a quickfuck. We have blurry photos.

Then we went to Cassette  and met a group of guys. Two were attractive, two were ugly. For some reason it seemed like a good idea to go back to Danny Doolan’s. On the way the guys found out that it was my birthday and decided that we would go to a strip club and that they would try to outdrink us. In Danny Doolan’s they introduced Anya and I to kbars - apple, raspberry and vodka and Amelia hung out with one of the Irish guys again.

We were supposed to meet up with Zack at some point, but he was too drunk and didn’t know where he was except that the Japanese owners hated him.

Eventually we went back to Cassette where Anya and I outdrank the boys and we danced until we realised that at 8:30 am we still had school.

At 4 am we got home and woke up Ivana. She was less than impressed.

That day we walked to school all together, we were terribly tired and slightly hungover but it was still worth it.

It was easily the best birthday I have ever had.

I’m not sure if it’s possible to get that lucky twice. But currently I am talking to noone and contemplating sleeping early.

I like pink. Obviously.

In an ideal world this is what I’d be receiving for my birthday tomorrow

Tomorrow the Birthday countdown begins. I can barely contain my birthday excitement. If you don’t already know this, my birthday (for me) is the most important birthday of the year and each year I do a countdown.

Let’s have a trip back to last years…..

I love celebrating things. Compulsively. In fact I’m slightly tempted to try and figure out when I met all my friends so that we can have friendaversaries.

But in any case I’ve decided to start celebrating half birthdays. Mine has technically already been so next Monday I’m going to celebrate my half birthday with Amelia and Ivana. We will also be celebrating Amelia’s early birthday and Amelia’s leaving to Croatia. That in itself will be a celebration of an event that has already occurred as we shared a similar event in sixth form when Ivana went to Croatia.

For my 18th birthday I did a huge countdown, I won’t do this for my 18 and a half birthday since I missed it, but I’ll share with you the last one from my 18th =)

I’m not quite sure what to think of last night. It was fun, I had fun. But I really have no idea what happened.

Starting off walking down from Adam’s to Monsoon Poon with some Big Foot and similar we strolled through the cathedral water feature, past moe’s and the skin’s carpark and downwards towards Monsoon Poon.

Monsoon itself was fantastic. I’ve been obsessed with that place since fashion week in either fourth or fifth form? I had an amazing champagne cocktail complete with edible frangipani. What’s more is that the bathrooms in Monsoon Poon are equipped with spray deoderant and moisturisers. An superb idea I say.

Following dinner we travelled upwards towards Cassette where Ryan had booked a booth for the evening. Only it was still fairly early so we detoured via a bottle store where travel jagerbombs and sour shots were purchased. I remember discussing cats with Josiah. Cats are amazing. The downside of the evening for myself began to wear it’s way in however.

Eventually after a quick respite in Burger King we entered Cassette. I can remember discussions of disney classics and adding beats to the music, watching Adam and Josiah throw themselves onto the chairs and many many many teapots. However it was early days so tonight was not to be a night for random new Cassette friends.

Whilst on a supplies run Adam, Jae, Cameron and I visted Ivana up at Pyramid. Whilst there it was discovered that Adam had somehow cut up his finger. He in was in luck though, ever resourceful Ivana had a plaster in her bag.

As quickly as we had gotten there we were soon back in Cassette to find that Ryan and Josiah had disappeared. A few unintelligible texts and a garbled phone call later it was deduced that they were back by Monsoon Poon and so accordingly we set off in search of the lost birthday boy and fire breathing friend.

The scene we discovered once reaching the benches by Monsoon was Ryan, Josiah and a pair of new friends, Kyle and someone. With those bad boys in tow we were told that we were going to carpark so off we set.

Carpark whilst initially enjoyable on further inspection was realised to be a club full of Jersey Shoresque guidos and strange pacific mixes. I found myself wanting to shuffle and hula simultaneously. Neither of which would have been good. By this stage my feet were starting to lag.

After another escape of key characters we again found ourselves outside with no idea where we were going or who we were waiting for. A text from Matthew Mudford later and we began to walk towards Queen st, meeting Mudford on the way.

Ryan soon caught up and it was decided that we would go to Met & Code. Met was a well and true cock fest however so after a spat of dancing we once again ventured airwards. On the steps we met up with Josiah and so while somehow acquiring Jae and Cameron our next mission became to get to Margy’s. On the way fate intervened as we were reunited with Mel, our chef friend from the North Shore that we met at Cassette on evening. Mel of the brilliant stories, the moving Patrick and stellar British accent. Bonding over eachother’s brilliance we decided to go to bk again in search of Matt Bain and Ashley. My name was changed in Mel’s phone from Cassette girl to Maddy and my fox fur was greatly appreciated.

I’m sorry peta, but my fox fur truly is lovely and it’s vintage and it’s the closest I’ll ever get to wearing Robin Hood or Fantastic Mr Fox. 0909

However with hugely dilated pupils Paddy and Mel had to keep moving and as we discovered that Bain and Ashley were in another of the bk’s we moved on as well.

Coming to the correct Bk a great congregation gathered and over three large fries, a non descript burger and some cups everyone tried to figure out what on earth they were doing. Amelia, Hana and Ivana joined us and it was discovered that Ryan and Mudford were at the White House. After some confusion, discussion and weighing up of options everyone’s final destinations were decided and Adam and I walked back up to his apartment. Finally being off Queen St I felt comfortable with removing my high heels and was able to allow my feet to recenter. Walking all over the place in heels is less than fun.

This morning though with Ryan’s car keys in my bag and Adam’s car outside Cameron’s in Mt Albert Adam and I had to make our way to Cameron’s so as to be able to drop off Ryan’s keys and pick up Adam’s car. With no change of clothes and no chance of wearing my heels again and a very obvious blemish on my neck (ahgdhjsfgasjdhasjd) I had to make that awful next morning walk around town to find a bus. I have to admit that Jae was right when he said that if I drew whiskers on my face that I’d regret it. That would have been the icing on the cake.

This isn’t to say that I didn’t have a good night last night though. In fact I had an extremely good night, I just don’t quite get what happened. All plans were disregarded and my feet are definitely the worse for wear. But now washed, fed and in comfortable clothes at home I am quite content.

And now I have to work on my assignments, bring on the week from hell!

Today is my eldest friend and most special sister’s 18th birthday, we’ve been friends since she was born. Now I don’t see her much because she lives in Australia, but she’s very special nonetheless.
